ENEDA, a non-stock, non-profit organization dedicated to promoting Entrepreneurship Education, will be holding its 1st Regional Conference of ENEDA and YES NCR on November 29, 2008 (8:00am – 3:00pm) hosted by Miriam College at the Marian Auditorium entitled:

“Building Capacity and Competency in Entrepreneurship Education.”

This first of its kind conference is a joint program with the Young Entrepreneur Society or YES NCR chapter. YES NCR is the student organization counterpart of ENEDA. It is worthwhile to note that no less than Dr. Amelia A. Biglete, the director for CHED NCR, has issued an endorsement dated 26 September 2008 encouraging entrepreneurship educators, school administrators and students who are would-be-entrepreneurs to attend the conference.

The conference highlights are:

Morning Sessions:

1. The presentation and introduction of ENEDA and YES NCR Officers , our goals and directions;

2. The presentation and forum by DOST, DTI BMSMED, and TRC. This will briefly tackle the range of information resource assistance and support programs from transforming project ideas of students into successful entrepreneurial ventures and citizens - in various stages of venture development;

Afternoon Sessions:

3. Noontime/lunch show of : the Latest Teaching Communication Tools and Support System to Enhance Teaching Competency and Building Integrity for Entrepreneurship Educators by: MicroData and Selected Representatives from Book Publishers : Pearson, McGraw Hill, Wiley as well as well as Mind Movers, a local distributor and publisher;

4. Focus Group Discussion and Interview Results (research- in-progress as of this date) entitled: Find Out and Fill In the Teaching and Learning Gap” in entrepreneurship courses of selected ENEDA and YES NCR member schools;

Morning Sessions:

Exhibits and Product Demonstrations

3. The whole day affair is also highlighted with the student product prototype project exhibition, demonstrations and selected merchandise sale from other participating/sponsor companies in the Upper Lanai Foyer, LMC/and the Pillar campus grounds(Note: Formal Opening starts 11 to 11:30 am at the campus grounds immediately after session 2: of DOST; DTI; TRC; all delegates now proceed to the exhibition area for viewing)


Afternoon Sessions:

4. Noontime/lunch show of : State of the Art Teaching Communication Tools and Support System to Enhance Teaching Competency and Building Integrity for Entrepreneurship Educators by: Canon, Microdata and Selected Representatives from Book Publishers : Pearson, McGraw Hill, Wiley as well as well as Distributors: Mind Movers;
( Note: Sessions 4and 5 are break away sessions from 11:30 am to 1 pm which is lunch socials with show and presentations form sponsors and partners; then 1 to 2:15 pm exclusive for educators in MMJ Seminar Room /or LMC Rooms 1 and 2) )

5. Focus Group Discussion and Interview Results (research- in-progress as of this date) entitled: “Teaching and Learning Practices, Needs and Gaps in Selected ENEDA NCR Member Schools”– Miriam College, University of Santo Tomas, San Beda College, San Sebastian College, FEU-Morayta, St. Paul QC (Note: Session 1 to 2:15 pm)

6. YES NCR - break away session from 11:30 to 1:00 is lunch for students in the campus grounds and cafeteria; 1:00 pm to 2:15 pm, exclusive for students in Marian Auditorium; a separate program for students which is a forum/discussion by young graduates of participating schools who now entrepreneurs in their own right. This will be in part an AVP highlighting the young entrepreneurs achievements and hurdles on their first hand account in setting up, running, sustaining their business and getting ready for the big thing! This is intended to inspire and motivate the students and hopefully find insights from.

7. Tribute to Educators and the Call for Ethically and Socially Responsible Entrepreneurship. This is the Final Session where all educators and students converge from 2:20 to 3 pm in the Marian Auditorium. The conference will be capped with the YES NCR tribute presentation to Entrepreneurship Educators; and for its finale, the call for everyone to be ethically and socially responsible for others!
